Description
Four Horses is a tiny independent self-publishing video game developer with a love for classic video games and portable gaming. Their aim is to make games inspired by the earliest generations of video games which can be enjoyed by anyone.
History
HistoryMichael Waites founded Four Horses in November 2015 as a way to self publish Digger Dan DX on the Nintendo 3DS eShop. Michael started his career in the games industry as a tester but quickly moved into a project management role, though he was always a programmer at heart. Growing up through the earliest generations of home video games, he soon developed an interest in typing in programs from magazines and modifying them to understand how they work. This eventually led to the creation of Digger Dan as a homebrew programming exercise which evolved into a game fit to be published on as Nintendo DSiWare. Though the game was well received, Michael wanted to reach a bigger audience and upgraded the game to work on the Nintendo 3DS at the earliest opportunity. Finally, at the end of 2015, he was in a position to start Four Horses and hire an experienced freelance artist to create a fresh new look for the game.

- "Digger Dan & Kaboom is definitely a case of substance over flash. The game's interface is a bit rough around the edges, the character design is so-so, and the visuals have a weird perspective that takes some getting used to. As far as gameplay is concerned, though, Digger Dan is top notch. With a plethora of brilliantly-designed levels that never cease to surprise and excite, and a simple, two-button control system, this is a great game that caters to a wide variety of audiences. Whether you just want to play for a few minutes on the bus or sit down for a lengthy play-session, Digger Dan is a blast."
